Getting to Know Your Macbook on Wednesday, April 21st from 3:15-4:45pm
MUST BRING YOUR MAC
Learn shortcuts and how to use basics applications. This workshop will provide a foundation along with opportunities for you to ask questions about your mac with regards to memory, set up and applications such as iPhoto and iMovie.
GOOGLE DOCS For The Classroom on Monday, April 26th from 3:15-4:15pm
With Google Docs you can create and access documents anywhere, anytime using a standard web browser. Create presentations like Powerpoint from any computer with internet access. Students and teachers can edit and revise, share and collaborate in real time, and control who participates while keeping track of all revisions that have been made and by whom. The workshop will cover how to use Google Docs and some creative applications for the classroom. All teachers and students have Google Doc accounts. Come learn about this amazing tool.
Web Sites with WORDPRESS on Wednesday, April 28th from 3:15-5:15 pm
Create your own teacher web site using Wordpress. This software will allow teachers to create and update their classroom web sites from both home and school. Wordpress has many easy to use layouts to choose from. You will be able to add links to favorite sites, upload audio, video and pictures and host your own blog from this site. After attending this training you will have an up and running web site.
PHOTOSTORY on Tuesday, May 4th from 3:15-4:45pm
Create slideshows using your digital photos. Bring photos to life and share student stories. Personalize them with titles and captions. With a single click you can touchup crop or rotate pictures. It’s that easy! Add stunning special effects, soundtracks and voice narration to your photo stories. Watch student writing improve when they hear and see their stories come to life.
*Attendees will receive a microphone if they have not already received one from the district.
INTERMEDIATE WORDPRESS on Tuesday, May 11th from 3:15-4:30
This training is designed for teachers currently using Wordpress that are interested in fine-tuning their site. You will learn to add slideshows of photos using the Gallery, password protect posts and pages, control comments and utilize other features. You will have time to enhance your site by adding links, uploading audio, video and pictures.
Space is limited to 12 people for training. If there are other technology related trainings (i.e. wikis, podcasting, or video conferencing) that interest you, please let us know by emailing atarquin@eusd.net and we will try to provide training in that area.
