PHOTOSTORY on Thursday, December 4th from 3:15-4:15pm
Create slideshows using your digital photos. Bring photos to life and share student stories. Personalize them with titles and captions. With a single click you can touchup crop or rotate pictures. It’s that easy! Add stunning special effects, soundtracks and voice narration to your photo stories. Watch student writing improve when they hear and see their stories come to life.

Web Sites with WORDPRESS on Monday, December 8th from 3:15-5:15pm
Create your own teacher web site using Wordpress. This software will allow teachers to create and update their classroom web sites from both home and school. Wordpress has many easy to use layouts to choose from. You will be able to add links to favorite sites, upload audio, video and pictures and host your own blog from this site. After attending this training you will have an up and running web site.

DIGITAL PHOTOS in the Classroom on Tuesday, December 9th from 3:15-4:15pm
Digital photos from a camera or downloaded from the web offer a lot of opportunities for both students and teachers. Learn how to organize photos, create photo albums and slideshows, link them to your website, edit and crop images to improve the quality of the picture. You will also learn about creative ways to use digital photos with students. Bring your digital camera to the training to import your own photos.

Creating Music and Podcasts on your PC with Mixcraft on Tuesday, December 16th from 3:15-4:45pm
The goal of the lessons is to connect music, technology, and interdisciplinary subjects by expanding student thinking, learning, creativity, and communication. Enhance student writing with educational podcasts. Podcasts will give you a way to motivate students to read, write and share the stories they create. Use fairy tales, narratives, and favorite writing activities to take learning to a new level. Stories will come to life when students add sound effects, create music of their own, and learn to use inflections in their voice when reading.
*Attendees will receive a license for the program and can sign up for Ashley Tarquin to come in and train students and/or assist with a technology lesson.

INTERMEDIATE WORDPRESS on Wednesday, December 17th from 3:15-5:15pm
This training is designed for teachers currently using Wordpress that are interested in fine-tuning their site. You will learn to add slideshows of photos using the Gallery, password protect posts and pages, control comments and utilize other features. You will have time to enhance your site by adding links, uploading audio, video and pictures.

Space is limited to 12 people for training. If there are other technology related trainings (i.e. wikis, podcasting, or video conferencing) that interest you, please let us know by emailing atarquin@eusd.net and we will try to provide training in that area.
