Doodle For Google Contest
All Encinitas Schools have been registered to be part of an exciting
contest. Doodle for Google is a competition which invites K-12 students to
play around with the google logo and see what new designs they come up with.
This year Google has invited U.S. kids to join in the doodling fun, around
the intriguing theme “What I Wish for the World.”
What I Wish For The World?
- we use plants for electricity
- we make college free for everyone
- we give health insurance to all who need it
- we connect everyone by cell phone or computer
These are exciting times and both our country and the world are on the brink
of significant change. Google believes in thinking big, and dreaming big,
and they are encouraging students to do the same.
Students will use the Google Template off the web site . Teachers will submit doodles
on behalf of their students which relate to the “What I Wish for the World”
theme. Doodles will be judged in the following brackets:
- Kindergarten – Grade 3
- Grade 4 – Grade 6
Your school can submit up to six entries. You might want to hold a contest
to select the best doodles in each grade group.
Teacher Needs To Submit?:
- A doodle
- A title for the doodle
- A supporting statement explaining how the doodle relates to the “What
- I Wish for the World” theme
- Completed consent form from web site.
The artwork should be placed on top of the submission and the entry form and parental consent form should be attached by a staple in the top left corner of the page.
Entries are due by 11:59:59 PM Pacific time on March 31, 2009.
